About Me
Keeping it Short and Sweet
The story of where I came from and how I got to where I am now.
I'll start by saying hello hello!! And welcome to my blog! My name is Amber Kanour, and I am beyond happy to be sharing all of this with you guys! I am 26 years old, and I am finally starting to truly live my life the way that it was meant to be lived! I grew up in Rootstown Ohio, went to Kent State University for Clinical Psychology, and worked with adults with developmental disabilities and deficits for 7 years.
After taking a seasonal sales job to learn more skills for the future, I realized that I had NO idea what I was doing with my life, or what I even wanted to do. When the seasonal job had ended, I felt so alone and frustrated with what I was dealing with in my life and wanted to give up. I had just been dumped, I had no job, and I had inherited a small bit of money from the death of my grandmother, and everything was just going wrong. This is when I realized I had NOTHING left for me there in Kent Ohio. I was miserable.
It was a Sunday afternoon at the end of August of 2015 that I got to thinking, I just had to get out of that town. I couldn't stand it there anymore. So I applied to the ONLY place I had ever longed to work; Walt Disney World. I also looked into renting rooms in Orlando, FL. My mother helped me make some calls, and by Monday afteroon I had a room rented in Orlando, my car was packed full of all of my belongings, I got new tires, an oil change, filled the car with gas and was ready to go. I started driving Tuesday morning.
I made it to Florida by 5am Wednesday morning, and within 2 weeks had a job at WALT DISNEY WORLD. I was finally putting myself first and it was proving to be the best decision I had ever made. I have since moved on from working with Mickey, but I have also made strides in the best direction other than that as well. In January of 2016 I met a man that swept me off my feet, and am now married to that man (James, who is the greatest man in the world).
I am obsessed with food (a foodie if you will), but I am obsessed with healthy food! Finding the best foods for my body, cooking the food, finding ways to incorporate superfoods in my life. Food and exercise mean so much to me and I feel a million times better by doing these things for myself. By making moves to better my life and put myself first I have learned how possible it is and how important I AM. I hope that by following along in my journey to put myself first in more ways than one, that YOU will learn how to do the same.
